CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION
“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of our nation and the citizens of tomorrow.”
Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School celebrated Children’s day on the 14th November 2024, with great festive fervour, to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru. Teachers took this unique opportunity to give a brief insight into the life of Chacha Nehru and his special connection towards children.
The children came dressed in casual dresses.To make this day a memorable one, various fun filled activities like mimicry, colouring Competition, ramp walk, dancing etc. were organised for the students of pre-primary wing. They were taken out of their class rooms to the ground. It was an unstoppable day of celebration full of fun, frolic and laughter and the children utilized this liberty and played games to their heart’s content. They relished their favourite food with the classmates. There was excitement in the air and children left the school with a bag full of stories about their special day at school.
SPELLATHON COMPETITION CLASSES I & II on 22nd October 2024
A strong foundation of spellings builds an empire of language.
Learning is not the product of teaching, learning is the product of the activity of learners. And to build up the linguistic skills of our students, an Intra Class Spellathon Competition was organized at Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School for the children of grades I and II on 22nd October 2024.Preparing for Spellathon helps students understand words more deeply as they learn meanings, usage in a sentence along with the spelling of words. Students gave their best and enjoyed strengthening their vocabulary. This competition was rather an amazing platform for students to learn new words, enhance their vocabulary and concentrate on language building.

English Poem Recitation Competition (CLASSES I AND II)
“Poetry is simply the most beautiful, impressive, and widely effective mode of saying things.”
Recitation is one of the most important and effective modes of learning a language and appreciating a piece of literature. The main purpose behind conducting such competitions is to build self-confidence, develop oratory skills and self-expression. An “English Poem Recitation Competition” was organized at Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School for the children of grades I and II on 21st October 2024. The students came up with different poems based on different themes and recited them with great fondness and confidence. They enjoyed the perfection of expression, thoughts, emotions, rhythm and music of words. They used various props and costumes related to their poems that made the classroom even more vibrant and lively. The teachers appreciated and applauded the participants.

SWACHHATA PAKHWADA

The government of India is observing Swachhata Pakhwada every year since 2016, which has become a successful mass movement with the annual participation of millions of children and other functionaries besides members of the community. This year the ‘Swachhata Pakhwada’ was scheduled from 1 September 2024 to 15 September 2024.
For observing the Swachhata Pakhwada in a befitting manner with focused participation resulting in cleanliness, sanitation and hygiene drive, our school organized the following activities for the students of classes NURSERY and KG.

TEACHER’S DAY CELEBRATION

“True teachers are those who help us think for ourselves”
Teacher’s Day was celebrated with immense zeal at our school on 5th September 2024.It is a day to pay respect to the teachers and thank them for the efforts and hard work they put in every day, all around the year, to nurture the students. Students participated in activities like dance, poetry and songs to thank their teachers. Card making activity was also organised. Students of classes Nursery and KG brought decorative material for card making activity. It was an opportunity for our toddlers to use and show their own creativity to make the cards. Students enjoyed the day and activity with great enthusiasm.
ENGLISH RHYME RECITATION COMPETITION

“Poem Recitation is a mode of expression, a medium to reflect the latent talents of the young ones.”
Rhymes can prove to be an instrumental stepping stone for young children to develop their verbal skills and boost their confidence.
Keeping this in mind, English Rhyme Recitation Competition for Classes Nursery and K.G. was organized on Monday,02/09/2024 in which the children got an opportunity to exhibit their talent and confidence. The children chose a variety of topics for their recitation like nature, trees, rain, animals etc. with a lot of zeal and enthusiasm.The children enjoyed the competition. Our honourable Chairperson congratulated all the participants and winners were presented the rewards and gifts.
JANMASHTAMI CELEBRATION
Krishna Janmashtami is a festival commemorating the birth of Lord Krishna, one of the most powerful and famous reincarnations of Lord Vishnu.
To seek the blessings of Lord Krishna, the students celebrated Janmashtami with mirth and joy. The students came dressed up as Lord Krishna, Radha, playmates and friends of Krishna’s childhood. The School premises wasdecorated with balloons, flutes andmatkies giving the vibes of festivity. Educational videos were shown to the students to make them aware of the preachings of Lord Krishna. The happy and excited students also participated enthusiastically in craft work. The teachers instilled the value of self-worth and introspection in the students. The day was a delightful divine journey for the students.
INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION
Independence day celebration took place in the school premises on Wednesday – 14th August 2024.
The event was organized with great zeal and enthusiasm. A special assembly was held where the children were briefed about the significance of our 78th Independence Day. The highlight of the event was a special dance performance by the students of K.G. on “Suno Gaur Se Duniya Walon”.
It was also a Bag less day for Nursery and K.G. classes. The students enjoyed different games like Flag Race, Passing the Parcel, Book Balancing etc. They wore tricolor T- shirts and also brought tricolor food. National Symbols were explained in the classes.
RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION
“Rakhi is a bond of love, a bond of togetherness.
It’s a thread that binds, our lives and our hearts”.
Raksha Bandhan celebration was held on 16th August’2024 at LAPS. This festival cherishes the bond of love between brothers and sisters. On this special day the decoration and ambience of class reflected the festival mood. Our Pre – Primary kids were beautifully dressed up in traditional attire and they celebrated this festival with their friends. Girls tied a sacred thread on the boys’ wrist and they gave them a chocolate and gift as a token of love. All the students enjoyed a lot.
SELF INTRODUCTION COMPETITION
A Self Introduction Competition was conducted by Nursery Block of Lt. Col. Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School.
Introducing oneself to the World is an art. The exposure of this kind boosts the confidence of children and helps them to be more social. A confident mind leads one to great success .The objective of the competition was to develop their public speaking skills. Their attempt to hold the mike developed their social and emotional skills. We endeavour to build a confident new generation of India.
GLOBAL TIGER
The International Tiger Day was celebrated on 29 July 2024 to raise awareness on tiger conservation. The celebration sensitized students about the critical need to protect tigers.

Green Drive and Nutrition drive Based on the theme, the students were instructed to bring any of the following dishes in their lunch boxes:
- Mixed Vegetable Sandwiches/Idlis
- Fruit and Vegetable Salads
- Mixed Vegetable Cheelas/Upma/Poha
The week-long celebration of Shiksha Saptahwas an enriching and enlightening experience for the entire school community. The week was filled with a variety of activities that aimed at fostering a love for learning and academic excellence.

Mehar Little Angels Sr. Sec. School, from 22 July to 28 July 2024.Various events were being organised as part of the 4th-anniversary celebration of NEP 2020.Each day of the week was dedicated to a specific theme, showcasing various aspects of education and development.

It was based on the theme of understanding the impact of innovative Teaching Learning Materials in making education more engaging and effective through joyful learning.
MANGO DAY
“Mango Day” was celebrated on 22/7/2024 by our kindergarten children. Dressed in yellow our children bloomed like sun flower. The celebration was a measure to introduce our toddlers to the king of fruits ‘Mango’. Various activities were included to make the day more interesting like making mango craft, paper crumpling and dabbing, rhyme session related to juicy mango. The activity helped to develop their fine Motor skills. The sole purpose of the entire event was to see our little angels budding and blooming with happiness and excitement to learn.
JANAMASHTAMI CELEBRATION
On 6th September 2023, a joyful Janamashtami celebration took place for the young students of Pre- Primary. On Krishna Janmashtami, The Pre-Primary were depicted as Gokul, the mythical village of Lord Krishna. Students from the Pre-Primary participated in the events with great enthusiasm. The school premises were decorated with buntings, flowers, swings, and pictures of Lord Krishna. While boys were dressed up as Krishna, girls were dressed up as Radha. There were dance performances on ‘Kanha So Ja Zara’ and ‘Natkhat Natkhat Jamuna Ke Tat Par’. Children delighted in swinging Ladoo Gopal’s cradle. Teachers narrated enchanting stories about Krishna. Dahi Handi was the main attraction of the event. Various activities were conducted for Pre-primary students like-Decoration of Peacock Feathers, Matki and Flute.
RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATION
‘Raksha Bandhan’ or ‘Rakhi’ is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. To commemorate this festival, a Rakhi Making Activity was organized for the students on 30th August, 2023. Students made beautiful Rakhis using different articles like ribbon, mirrors, pom poms, beads etc. Rakshabandhan was celebrated with lots of love and happiness.

Friendship is a selfless bond between two people. Having a friend you can trust with your eyes closed is a God’s blessing. Friendship is a devoted relation, where both get the same love, care, and priority from each other. At an early age, people come in contact with various members of the public, and they make many friends. Keeping the above thought in mind, Friendship Day was celebrated on 5th August 2023. Teachers told about importance of friends in life. They discussed the value of “sharing is caring”. The students of Pre-Primary celebrated the day with their friends and teachers and exchanged friendship bands and chocolates.
TIGER DAY
Global Tiger Day, often called as International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise the awareness for Tiger conservation. ‘The Tiger Day’ was Celebrated on 29th July 2023.To promote this cause of saving this beautiful endangered species the student of Pre-Primary participated enthusiastically in different activities for the occasion. The following activities were planned to celebrate the day for the students aimed to generating awareness about the need to save tigers.

MANGO DAY
To celebrate and relish the season of the king of fruits “Mango.” Mango Day was celebrated on 21st July 2023. The aim of organizing this activity was to import all information related to mangoes. Children dressed in yellow, and bloomed like sun flowers. The celebration was a measure to introduce the colour concept of the colour “YELLOW” and introduction to the king of fruits ‘Mango.’ Children brought different food items related to mango like frooti, pie, cake, mango shake etc. The sole purpose of the entire event was to see our ‘Angels’ budding and blooming with happiness and their excitement to learn. The following activities were included to make the day more interesting. The children thoroughly enjoyed the party and will remember it for a long time to come. Overall, it was memorable day.

CHOCOLATE DAY CELEBRATION
Chocolate is loved by everyone across the world. It not only acts as a good stress buster and a mood lifter but is also good for health. Our tiny tots celebrated Chocolate Day on 7th July 2023, in a scrumptious way. Through stories, they learned that chocolates are made of milk, cocoa powder, and sugar, they were also taught about the health benefits of eating chocolates but in moderation, as excess can cause tooth decay.
Students brought their favourite chocolates and had a great time relishing them with their friends and teachers. The joy of celebrating Chocolate Day with their classmates was seen on the gleaming faces as the tiny tots bid goodbye for the day with blissful memories!
BAGLESS DAY ACTIVITIES OF NURSERY AND KG
GREEN COLOUR DAY
Green is the colour of life, nature and energy. It is associated with growth and prosperity. The learners of nursery celebrated Green Day on 9th May 2023. The learners were dressed in different shades of green. To reinforce the concept of colour, the learners were engaged in an art activity. The activity seeks to sensitize teachers and students for environmental sustainability through the active involvement of the community.
BLUE DAY
Blue – The colour of loyalty, strength, wisdom and trust had a very positive impact on tiny tots bringing in harmony and brotherhood. The learners of nursery celebrated Blue Day on 8th May 2023. The dress code of the day was blue. Children brought different objects like toys, decorative items.

EARTH DAY
To Sensitize the children, become the crusaders for environmental conservation, our school organised the Earth Day on 21st April 2023. The children were made aware that Every day is earth day and the purpose of celebrating Earth Day is to keep our grass green and our skies blue with more trees and less pollution. To celebrate the day, the following activities were conducted.

YELLOW COLOUR DAY
Shades of yellow stimulates our little ones with happiness, energy and optimism. Our pre-primary facilitators celebrated yellow day on 28th April 2023 with the tiny tots of nursery. The teachers were beaming with pride when the confident little commentators describe the yellow objects with the flair and ease. A day dedicated to the yellow colour was marked with cheerful children attired in different hues and tints of yellow outfits. The colour of wisdom and intellectual energy had a positive influence on our tender tots
RED COLOUR DAY
“The colour of love and smiles illuminates the air with energy vigour and exularence….” Pre-primary wing of our school conducted red day activity on 24th April 2023, to introduce children into the mesmerizing realm of colour. The shades of red made our tiny tots feel bright, lively and cheerful. The tiny tots looked stunning in their red outfits and also enjoyed the colouring activities planned for the day. It was a scintillating day with innocent faces gleaming and reflecting brightness, joy, love and happiness
ORIENTATION DAY
” A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the center of our universe.”
An Orientation programme was organised on 15.4.2023.
Parents were briefed on School culture, rules & regulations, curriculum and teaching methodology. An overview of subjects and activities were shared for the upcoming academic session 2023-24.
