SCHOOL ACTIVITIES

 

Republic Day Celebration - 25th January 2017

The 64th Republic Day of India was celebrated at our School with a great deal of patriotic zeal and fervour. The day began with the unfurling of the National Flag followed by National Anthem. The students saluted the National Flag and Pledged themselves to uphold the honour and integrity, diversity and uniqueness that is “India”. The colourful and patriotic presentation by students was real feast for our head and heart. The Patriotic song and varied dance performances brought forward the essence and spirit of Indianness. The students of class X performed a play on Swachh Bharat campaign in which they demonstrated the importance of cleanliness.
Finally, the programme concluded with the Principal delivering words of patriotism and wisdom by quoting great leaders. She wished that worldwide students grow up as responsible citizens and remain connected to their roots.
Indeed, it was a day of joy, a day to love and respect our country and promise to make it a better place for all Indians to live and experience the freedom, peace and unity in diversity.

CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION - 24th December 2016

Christmas is a time to give and forgive celebrated everywhere as a joyous family affair, we too, at school celebrated christmas as a happy time for our children. Our little children of I and II celebrated tthe day with great enthusiasm. To mark the celebration they sang christmas carols and also enjoyed the following activities.

1. Movie 'Frozen' was shown.

2. Christmas tree stars and santa shoes(were made by the students of class I).

3. Santa Claus, Christmas bells and Greeting Cards(were made by the students of Class II.)

FOOD CARNIVAL - 10th December 2016

Food Carnival - a unique platform of food fest where culinary skills blend in perfection and master piece is created. From Juniors to Seniors, each class prepared its own stall. For the parents, it was a treat free of cost.

The menu comprised of ' Bhel puri', 'Chaat Papri', 'Aloo Tikki', 'Kashmiri Kahwa', 'Vegetable Noodles', ' Pav Bhaji', Shahi Paneer and Parantha and ' Chana Bhatura'. In dessert we had 'Shahi Tukra' and 'Gajar ka Halwa'. Students also showcased their dancing talent by grooving on different dance numbers. The special attraction was LUCKY DIP!. and other games which everyone enjoyed. Parents tried their luck at wining gift hampers. Everyone relished and enjoyedit to the fullest.

CONSTITUTION DAY CELEBRATION

Constitution Day also known as "Samvidhan Divas" is celebrated in India on 26th November since 2015. On this day in 1949, constituent Assembly on India adopted the constitution of India which later came into effect on 26th January 1950. Previously this day was celebrated as "Law Day".

To mark the celebration, a special assembly was organised where in the mass reading of the Preamble to the Constitution was done.

DIWALI CELEBRATION - 30th OCTOBER 2016

The celebration of Diwali, 'The festival of lights' came alive at our school when the whole school wore a festive look with Diyas and Lanterns adoring the corridors in bright colours.

Management and staff celebrated Diwali with fervor seeking the blessings of Mahalaxmi, wishing brightness, prosperity and joy to all the members of "Angels Parivar".

On this auspicious day, The Managing Director, Mrs. Sanjiwan Mehar also distributed gifts as token of love to all the staff members.

Lets celebrate Eco-Friendly Diwali keeping this in mind an activity on Diwali was conducted by the students of class IX- X. They made posters depicting the theme "Happy and Safe Diwali".

SARV DHARAM BHAJAN SANDHYA - 22nd October 2016


“The essence of all religions is one, only their approaches are different”.

A common tenet of Hinduism is “Sarva Dharma Sambhava” which literally means that all Dharmas are equal.They are merely different paths to God or the same spiritual goal. Keeping this in mind the 15th Sarv Dharma Bhajan Sandhya was organized on 22nd October 2016. Its significance in the School relates to inculcating religious tolerance among students, thereby, teaching them the values of secularism and reverence. Bhai Mahavir Sharma, Prabhash Kumar Jha and gifted members of our staff recited Bhajans from all religious texts.

This day is also dedicated to Col. Sir, the Founder Manager and mentor who left for heavenly abode on 22nd October 2007. His unabated principles have been cherished and nurtured by many in the School.
To commemorate the 9th 'Puniya Tithi' of Lt. Col. Surjit Singh Mehar, Founder Manager of the School, all staff members participated in 'Sukhmani Sahib Path' in the morning.

On this day Children are also motivated towards activities of community services, wherein the students donated the ration for the underprivileged which was sent to 'Child Old Blind Home Welfare Society' in Nangloi.

SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR

Scholastic organised a book fair in the School Premises on Saturday 1st October 2016 for the parents as well as students . Variety of books were on the display including fictional stories, encyclopedia, puzzles ,activities books etc. It gave an opportunity to look for differenet genre of the books and buy them.

JANAMASHTAMI CELEBRATION

Janamashtami was celebrated in the school by class I and II on Wednesday, 24th August 2016. Children came dressed up as Lord Krishna and Radha. Significance of the festival was told to the children. A cradle of Lord Krishna was made.

ACTIVITIES: Flutes and Matkis were made and decorated with glitters and mirrors.

SCIENCE AND S.U.P.W EXHIBITION - 13th August 2016

Science and SUPW Exhibition was held in the School on Saturday, 13th August 2016. Students presented various models, projects, experiments to depict various themes. Parents came to see the hard work done by the students.

Our Little Angelites of classes I and II presented types of plants and their uses.They also showed and explained germination of seeds.

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Classes III – V showcased “Animal World”, how they are useful to us ,”Endangered Animals” and how they can be saved.Classes VI – VIII displayed “Wonder Weeds – The most unloved plants” and Fragrance Persona.Classes IX-XIII display various models on use of solar energy, hydraulic crane , biogas plant, pollination etc.They also presented fun with chemical through Golden Rain, Genie in the bottle. Students also  presented Dengue Awareness Program.

Students displayed various models and projects showing Integers, Exponents, Lines and Angles, Congruent Triangle, Height and Distances, Euclid Geometry etc. They also showed the use of Mathematics in different spheres of life.

The theme of Social Science Department was revolutionary discoveries of Ancient India which originated in the country. Students presented Nalanda University, Ayurveda, Yoga, Cotton gin etc.

COMMERCE DEPARTMENT

 Student of Classes XI and XII presented an action plan to show boost in investment in 25 sectors under the initiative taken by honourable Prime Minister ‘s  project titled 'Make In India' to make India an important Global Manufacturing Hub.

HOME SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Student showcase their culinary skills by presenting Health Diets, Baked Foods, Fruit tits bits, Charts etc.Adulteration in the food stuff was also shown.

ART AND CRAFT DEPARTMENT

Art and Craft Department laid emphasis on decorative utility articles made out of waste material like Photoframe,Penholder,coasters etc. Paintings like Madubani, warli, Scraping were also exhibited.

Various PPTs were prepared by students. Flash movies, Cartoons in paint etc were shown. Rangoli by designs in Logo,Various Image Effects,  projects in Netbeans  were a part of the exhibition.

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK DISPLAY- 23th July 2016

Holday Homework Display was organised on Saturday, 23th July 2016. Work and play are important ingredients of life and to develop core skills in students. Holiday Homework was an initiative on our part to inculcate inorativeness, creativity and interest in the task assigned to the students. Parents whole heartedly applauded the efforts of the students.

MOCK DRILL - 25th April 2016


Keeping in mind the destruction caused by Earthquake in Nepal last year, a mock drill was organized in the school on Monday, 25th April 2016. A bell rang at 11:00 AM and the whole school was evacuated in a short time of 2 minutes.

REPUBLIC DAY - 25th January 2016

                                                 
Republic day was celebrated in our school on Monday, 25th January 2016 with great patriotic feeling.
Our Honourable Managing Director, Mrs Sanjiwan Mehar, hoisted the National Flag. She extended her wishes to the staff and students. All the students performed various drills. Aerobics was also presented on the stage by the students of Class XI. A group of students presented dance on a patriotic song. A short play on fundamental rights and duties was the show stealer. A group song was presented by senior students. A dance performance on ‘Mile Sur Mera Tumhara’ brought the show towards the end and enlightened our minds towards the concept of ‘Unity in Diversity’ in India.

CELEBRATION OF CHRISTMAS - 23rd December 2015

The Primary wing celebrated Christmas with a festive spirit. To tap the creative ability, many activites were conducted in the classroom.

The children were then taken outside and they all enjoyed the treat of snacks. They danced to the tune of Jingles and were overjoyed when the Santa Claus gave them gifts. Students and parents relished the Christmas Cake.

FOOD CARNIVAL - 28th November 2015

Hospitality, appreciation and celebration are all synonyms to LAPS. Food Carnival was organised, in the School Ground, on 28th November 2015.Students showcased their talent in culinary field. Parents were cordially invited to be a part of our hospitality, as we believe any event remains incomplete without parents' involvement in it.

Food Carnival- A perfect platform where talents blend with each other and a masterpiece is created. From Juniors to Seniors, each class prepared its own stall.The menu comprised of Fruit Chaat as starters. A La carte we had Pav Bhaji, Paneer Kofta, Vegetable Burgers, and Chana Bhatura. In desserts, we had Rasmalai and Gajar Ka Halwa. Students also showcased their dancing talent by grooving on different dance numbers.The special attraction was LUCKY DIP and other games which everyone enjoyed. Parents tried their luck at winning gift hampers. Everyone relished and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Management and staff celebrated Diwali with fervor seeking the blessings of Mahalaxmi, wishing brightness, prosperity and joy to all the members of "Angels Parivar".

The Managing Director, Mrs. Sanjiwan Mehar distributed gifts as token of love to all the staff members. Clothes, sweets and cash were also given by her to all the Helping Staff members of the family.

The 14th Sarv Dharam Bhajan Sandhya was organized on 16th October 2015. Its significance in the School relates to inculcating religious tolerance among students, thereby, teaching them the values of secularism and reverence. To commemorate the 8th 'Puniya Tithi' of Lt Col. Surjit Singh Mehar, Founder Manager of the School, all staff members participated in 'Sukhmani Sahib Path' on 17th October 2015.

The School also imparts the lesson of service to mankind. Children are motivated towards activities of community service, wherein the students donated the ration for the underprivileged which was sent to 'Child Old Blind Home Welfare Society' in Nangloi.
Ration & Clothes were distributed to all the Class IV employees by the Managing Director, Mrs. Sanjiwan Mehar.

In the Morning Assembly conducted on Saturday, 17th October 2015, all the Students recited 'Gaytri Mantra' , 'Mool Mantra' and Shanti-Path' to pay their obeisance to Col. Sir.

 

 

69th INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION - 14th August 2015

The 69th year of Independence was celebrated in the school, with great pomp and show. It was also dedicated to the Late President Mr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The day reminded us of the sacrifices made by freedom fighters. The National Flag was unfurled and the National Anthem was reverberated. It signified the growth of democracy. A brief cultural programme was held which included Patriotic songs, Speeches, Poems, Skits and Dances depiciting the true national spirit engrained in the hearts of the children who belong to this country. Programme ended with a speech by our respected Principal Ma'am. She encouraged us to follow our duties towards our nation.

Science and S.U.P.W Exhibition was held in the School on Saturday, 8th August 2015. Students presented various models, projects, experiments which depicted various themes. It was a treat to the eyes indeed!

CLASS I & II

Four seasons were depicted and the Importance of nutritious food was explained through display. Our little ones also presented a skit.

 

SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

'World of Plants' was depicted and importance of Plants in our lives was shown in the form of everyday things. Students from Classes VI-X depicted the presence of harmful chemicals in our cosmetic products under the theme TOXIC BEAUTY. Students also prepared various models on Periscope, Kaliedoscope, Electromagnet, optical illusion and Artificial Kidney. Students also showed the magic of chemicals with invisible ink, hot ice etc.

MATHEMATICS DEPARTMENT

Topics like Symmetry, Factors, Roman Numerals were depicted with the help of paper folding, paper cutting, thread painting methods etc. Students also made Maths Dictionaries, Paper Bags, Windchimes etc. Various models showing congruency and similarity of Triangles, Height and Distances, 3-D Geometry were innovatively made by the students.

SOCIAL SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

People were made aware of how the consumer gets cheated at the market. They were informed about their rights and duties and how to approach a Consumer Forum and file a complaint.

COMMERCE DEPARTMENT

The reward for taking on risk is the potential for a greater investment return. Keeping this in mind, the Commerce Department of the school exhibited the various Modes of Investment available for an investor depending upon his risk capacity, his objective of investing and the time horizon he wants to keep so that better financial decisions can be taken.

HOME SCIENCE DEPARTMENT

Students showed their culinary skills in the Health Diets during problems like Diabetes, Hypertension etc. Parents and children were also told about the kinds of First Aid to be given at the time of emergencies. Various types of Beverages, Sandwiches and Salads were prepared.

 

ART AND CRAFT DEPARTMENT

Art and Craft Department laid emphasis on Utlilty Articles out of Waste material. Students presented Bottle Art, Coasters, Baskets, Photo Frames etc.

 

 

COMPUTER DEPARTMENT

Various Powerpoint Presentations were made. Flash Movie and Editing of Photos were also presented. Students developed their projects using C++ and Netbeans software.

 

PRE PRIMARY

Different shapes were shown and their respective objects were displayed. Children were dressed up as different animals.The message was to save them.

The Science & SUPW Exhibition was a great success and received great applause from the spectators. Kudos!! to the students and the teachers.

HOLIDAY HOMEWORK DISPLAY- 17th July 2015

Work and play are important ingredients of life and to develop core skills in students Holiday Homework was assigned to the students. They have excelled in their work. To motivate and encourage them, students Holiday Homework Display was organised on Friday, 17th July 2015 in their respective classes. Parents whole heartedly applauded the efforts of the students.

 

A Tribute to Our Mother Earth - 22nd April 2015

"There is enough for everybody's need but not for anyone's greed".

Keeping this in mind, the students of our school celebrated "Earth Day" with great enthusiasm. Following class level activities were conducted to celebrate this day.

FIRE MOCK DRILL - 18th February 2015

A fire Mock Drill was organised in the school. A fire alarm was sounded and the students started vacating the school along with the teachers. The whole school was evacuated. Teachers were also trained to use the fire extinguisher and to put off the fire, they pulled the extinguisher and got ready to use it.

REPUBLIC DAY - 24th January 2015

Republic Day was celebrated in our school with great enthusiasm. The main theme of the celebration was to enlighten the youth regarding the responsibilities towards their nation. The main highlights of the programme were Republic Day Speech in English and Hindi, Recital of Patriotic song, Dandia Dance and Indian Dance highlighting the spirit of free India.The programme proved to be a great source of motivation for the students.

LOHRI CELEBRATION - 13th January 2015

The festival of Lohri was celebrated with great pomp and show in our school. It is a harvest festival of Northern India and is celebrated to mark the happiness as wheat is sown at this time.

There was a bonfire in the school ground and wood crackled and burnt in it. All the students gathered around it and were given popcorns, peanuts and sweets to eat. Students were told about the importance of this festival and songs related to it were also sung. All the teachers and students enjoyed the warmth of this festival.

Students of classes I and II celebrated Christmas with joy and fervor. Simran Kaur and Rachita Vijay of II-A gave speech giving the importance of this festival and Ifza of II-A recited a rhyme. They also sang Christmas carols and enjoyed eating muffins and plum cake. They were also given sweets by their teachers.

In dessert we had Fruit Cream.Students also showed their dancing talent. They grooved on the dance numbers and so did the parents.The special attraction of the event was LUCKY DIP! and other games which parents and students both enjoyed. Parents tried their luck to win gift hampers. It was an enjoyable moment for everyone.

CELEBRATING POLICE WEEK

On the occassion of the Police week being celebrated, our school hosted an Inter SChool painting competition. 30 children participated in the competition. The topics were given on the spot to the children. The SHO Mr. Ratan Lal visited the school and appreciated the creative ability of children.

BOOK FAIR

It is rightly said "Books are Man's Best Friend." keeping this in mind a Book fair was organised in our School. It was a week long event with the aim of helping the students get access to thousands of affordable and educational products, helping foster a lifelong love of reading. Our School is known to encourage such educational events. Here, children could pursue and purchase their favourite books. The fair had books arranged for all age-groups, grade - levels and of all genres, making it easy for kids to find characters and subjects they love and want to read about. Ardent lovers of books were seen purchasing their favourite books and also, introducing their parents to their world of interest. This book fair lured even the non - lovers and mesmerised by the atmosphere, even they purchased few books. The aim was well met and it turned out to be a successful event!

SCIENCE PLAY

Science Centre Delhi organised a Play/Drama competition under the theme "Science and Society" with the aim of bringing awareness among the people and the contribution of Science to the Society. Several themes were given to the students to prepare their play like - Conservation of Water, Life and Work of a Scientist etc. The competition started at the Zonal level and was destined to go to the state level. Being a technology admirer and welcomer, LAPS too partcipated in the competition. The theme selected by the Einstein club of our School was "life and work of a Scientist" and needless to mention the scientist the panel chose was none other than the Scientist of all time- Albert Einstein! The students were prepared under the guidance of Ms. Rashmi Kochhar. Our little Angelites gave their heart and soul to the play and the efforts were well paid too, in the form of a glorious win - first at the Zonal Level, then Central level and then at the STATE LEVEL TOO! Kudos to our teachers and students !!
